The Dept. of Health and Rehabilitative Services was created in 1969 (Ch. 69-106, Laws) by merging several state agencies into one Department. It is responsible for providing health, social, economic, family, and rehabilitative services to citizens in need. It was reorganized in 1975 (Ch. 75-48, Laws) changing its divisions into program offices.
